Avoid these Hair Mistakes II

Besides our general hair mistakes discussed earlier this week, there are plenty of mistakes to be made at the salon as well… here are some to definitely avoid.

One thing you may not think about during a haircut is the way you’re sitting.  Crossing your legs, leaning slightly or hunching can throw off the angle of your head and leave your cut in the same off angle.

Another mistake many women make is getting enamored with a celebrity’s cut and style.  It’s important to remember that unless you look a lot like them, that style will not look exactly the same on you.  In fact, it may end up being a minor disaster.  Remember to take into account your natural colorings and face shape, and use those as starting points for finding your celebrity hair inspiration, and trust your stylist to make slight changes to make sure your style is as successful as possible.

It’s amazing all of the wonderful things a salon can do to your hair, but it’s important to remember that many common hair practices are done with powerful chemicals, and it’s best to give your hair plenty of time to recover in between treatments.  For instance, if you attempt to get highlights within 3 months of having your hair relaxed, it could be very prone to breakage or get light very quickly, leaving you with damaged hair in a shade you didn’t want.

Lastly, you know how your hair always looks so fabulous right after your cut, but you can’t ever seem to get it the same way afterwards?  Be sure to ask questions and take notes while your stylist is putting the final touches on your cut, so you can recreate it at home!

Armed with all of these things to watch out for, you’re a long way towards avoiding some of the most common and horrifying hair mistakes.
