10 Rules for Hair Accessories

According to Allure.com, these aren't just rules, they're Commandments.. so they're definitely worth reading...

1. Keep your headbands from being to youthful- a messy bun is a great antidote to their junior vibe.
2. For an instant hairstyle upgrade, switch from using an elastic to a barette- presto: classier and more chic
3. Bling it Baby- adding sparkly and jeweled barettes, brooches and more complement and elevate chignons and braided styles.
4. Up the sexy factor of your pony by making it high, tight, and sleek- and add some shine
5. If your hair is sweet, make your makeup tough- if you've created a perfectly angelic hairstyle, make sure you don't get too sweet by smudgin on black eyeliner to give you an edge.
6. You don't have to wash your hair everyday- in fact, as many of you know, it's easier to style hair that hasn't been washed in over 24 hours.. rely on dry shampoo if your mane can't hold up to too much grease.
7. Don't feel left out if you have short hair- in fact, you should celebrate, you can use a ton of the same accessories, and if you don't actually need them, you can just focus on making your hair look its best!
8. Stack your bobbies- to make a statement while getting the support you need, instead of just using 1 bobby pin, use 4 or 5, especially in gold or silver.
9. Wear a ribbon- as long as it's not too stiff- instead look for silk and floppy ones that you can weave into braids or wear like a headband.
10. NO TIARAS.. unless it's your birthday or you've just won Miss America.. trust us on this one.
