How to figure out your skin type

So many facial products are chosen by your skin type (dry, oily or combination), but how can you be sure which one you are?

Some people can easily tell what type their skin is, but for others, if you’re immediately applying creams or makeup after you clean your skin, you may be masking or exacerbating your skin’s natural tendencies.

To figure out once and for all which skin type yours is, use this tip from Allure’s Fall 2012 issue, “Splash your face ten times with lukewarm water; pat skin dry.  If skin feels tight, you have dry skin.  If not, wait 30 minutes and press one ply of a tissue over your face.  If there are greasy patches everywhere, your skin is oily.  If just the T-zone is oily, you have combination skin.”

And voila, you’ll have answer and be able to be more confident when purchasing products for your face.
