Would You Try Pomade?

If you’re anything like us, when you think of Pomades you probably think of your grandfather or other older men and slicked back styles, so you might not have ever considered using it on your own hair, but we may be about to change that…

From Allure.com, here is a list of which pomade can help your hair, regardless of its length, texture or styling problem.

"Short hair. This is probably the most obvious way to use it: Just a dab of texturizing pomade, like Short Sexy Hair Texture Pomade, helps shape short hair for a cool, mussed-up feel.

Long hair. Medium-hold pomades like Blow Pro Mane Tame define layers, leaving them touchable instead of stiff. Plus, you can use it to hide split ends by rubbing a dime-size amount between your palms and then running them through the last few inches of your hair.

Fine hair. Add volume with thickening pomade, like Supremo Magic Move—just use a light or soft-hold formula that won't weigh down hair.

Thick or frizzy hair. Banish fuzzy strays with Garnier Fructis Style Pure Clean Finishing Paste, which has a heavy consistency and strong hold. For flyaways along the hairline, try smoothing pomade, like Murray's Superior Hair Dressing Pomade.

Straight hair. Run a dime-size amount of a water-based pomade, like Redken Water Wax, from midlengths to ends to add shine without leaving behind a tacky residue. To create loose waves, work a dab of a strong-hold pomade through wet hair, braid it, and then air-dry.

Wavy hair. Massage a dollop of a flexible cream-pomade hybrid, like Shu Uemura Art of Hair Cotton Uzu, through your waves for a straight-from-the-beach tousled texture.

Curly hair. To define curls, try an oil-based pomade, like Curls Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste. The jelly-like texture keeps curls bouncy without making them feel crunchy."
