Best Sweaters for Your Body Shape

Cozying up in sweaters in one of the best parts of fall and winter, but not until you find ones that actually fit and make you feel comfy, not chunky.  Sometimes, with the wrong shape and too many layers, you face the danger of adding too much width, and not enough warmth.

Curvy Girls
•    If you’re curvy, especially up top, tucking a sweater in, but only in the front is a great way to keep it from clinging in any of the wrong the places
•    Balance and proportion are key, so if you’re wearing an oversize sweater, pair it with skinnies to keep from adding too much bulk
•    A diagonal hem is a great way to slim yourself and attract attention in a positive way
•    Embrace Color!  Don’t stick to all black, just employ these other tips and rock those bright hues

Pear Shapes
•    A high/low or “mullet” sweater is a great choice to lengthen (and thus slim) thicker thighs
•    A REALLY bright sweater, like flaming orange is great for bringing attention to your slimmer upper body and face
•    Finding a sweater with sheer trim, or putting a sweater over a longer, sheer tank is another great way to elongate your torso.

Lucky Long and Leans
•    If you’ve got great long legs, the one downside may be your torso looking too short.  You can avoid this by wearing sweaters that hit at the hip or below.
•    Pair those longer sweaters with skinny jeans
•    If you’re so lean that you need to create some curves, choose shiny fabrics that cling just a bit
•     If you’re long in the waist, a short cable-knit is good for balancing it out

With these tips, finding the right sweater to cuddle up in should be a snap!
