Keeping Your Color

When you find a hair color you really love, you want to do whatever you can to make sure it lasts, especially if you’ve decided to go Red, which is awesome, but requires a lot of TLC.  We’re here with a couple of tips to help keep your color lasting longer.

  Go From this to......           This!
  •  Wait at least 2 days to wash your hair after it’s been colored.  When it does come time to start washing, color-treated shampoos and conditioners without sulfates are your best bet, as they won’t strip out the color.
  •  Speaking of shampoos- another great way to stretch your color is to utilize dry shampoo, especially if your hair is oil-prone and skipping a day of washing isn’t an option.
  •  If, after a few weeks (around 4) you want to boost your color and shine, instead of piling on more dye, opt for an at-home or in spa glaze!
  • Especially since we’re headed into summer (yay!) a UV solution can be really beneficial to your hair’s color and health.  If you’re spending hours in the sun, a scarf or hat isn’t a bad idea either.

With these tips, your color can stay bright and beautiful longer, so if you’re ready for a new shade, call us for an appointment today!
